VIA has launched its Nano 3000 series processors for netbooks and all-in-one desktops. This will ensure in getting high performance with low energy consumption. Nano 3000 series processors can be chipped with the superscalar 'Isaiah' microarchitecture and can support the newly launched Windows 7 OS. The new notebooks are faster due to the implementation of the SSE4 instructions. The frequency for the processors is kept between 1GHz and 1.8GHz. According to the company sources, the new chips can playback in a high bit rate. It is said that the chips consume 100mW or 500mW power in the idle mode. More to it, the VIA Nano 3000 Processors use the NanoBGA2 package technology, which was being used by the previous versions. The chips also use Adaptive PowerSaver Technology that reduces power consumption and improves thermal management in the chip. Though the experts have already started comparing the VIA chips with the Intel Atom processors, still it will be revealed after it starts its production in 2010.
